Any #machine that is created, is done so with its specific purpose in mind. Example: no matter how sophisticated your washing machine, it's extremely unlikely that you would put your glass dishes in there in order to clean them. Doing so will result in disaster. In the same way, human beings were created with a very specific purpose. Allah ta ala, that being who Designed and Created us, told us in the Qur'an : 51:56 And I did not create jinn and man except to worship Me. We were created to be slaves of #Allah. Yes He allows us to live in and enjoy this world. It's when we lose sight of our purpose that we end up in problems. When we remove Allah from that station of Our Lord and Master then we create a vacuum. Anything can then fill that space. Your desires, your career, money, fame... The list goes on. Allah also warns us in a hadith e qudsi that if we allow this to happen, then He will cause us to be dependent on that thing and we will be betrayed by it. When our focus is on ourselves and on this world alone, After Allah ta ala created all the #souls. He gathered us together and asked us:
"Am I not your Lord?"
to which we all responded :
"No doubt, indeed we bear witness" Every time a person passes away we say inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raajioon We belong to Allah. Our #soul belongs to Him.
Every night when we sleep our soul returns to Him. Did you ever stop to reflect on this? Our souls are not of this world. They are nourished solely by the zikr and connection with Allah. Perhaps this is why we are more likely to die from lack of sleep than from lack of food. One leads to the death of our physical body while the other has a direct effect on our soul. The soul is placed in the body. It lives in this world like a fish out of water. As long as we remain in a state of #zikr, connected to Allah, the soul receives its nourishment. When we become unmindful the soul is starved. This starvation leads to illnesses... Not just #spiritual illness, but psychological illnesses as well.
Many of the psychological illnesses prevalent in society today is as a result of this spiritual disconnect. Will your cellphone work properly without being charged properly? This is exceedingly difficult in this digital social media age. Everything is grabbing our attention. If only we could understand that our attention is such a precious commodity, we would spend it more wisely. The things you give your attention to affects your mental health. Our mind is constantly taking in stimuli and our #hearts, that were created to recognize Allah are now working to recognize the latest fashion trends. Unfortunately Western psychology doesn't take this into consideration and describes the #human #psyche is a way that is not in alignment with the way the #Quran and #sunnah have described. The problem is that, we become the people we perceive ourselves to be.. Allah ta ala tells us in sura Teen that He Created us the Best of Creation, then lowered us to the lowest of the low.
When we behave according to our

#fitra (our innate predisposition towards good) we are angelic in nature, however when we give in to our nafs we are lowered towards our animalistic nature. When we are aware, it is much easier to behave in the correct way. In a way that is most suited to our purpose. A way that best suits our purpose and allows us to thrive. May Allah ta ala grant us the opportunity live our lives in a manner that is most pleasing to Him.
